Composition (per tablet):

  • Calcium

Dosage Form: Oral Tablet

Indications

Bonaid-D Tablet is indicated for:

  • Prevention and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiency
  • Maintenance of bone and teeth health
  • Support in osteoporosis, osteopenia, and fracture healing
  • Nutritional supplementation in elderly, postmenopausal women, and individuals with increased mineral requirements

Dosage and Administration

Recommended Dose:

  • Adults: 1 tablet once daily or as directed by a physician

Administration Instructions:

  • Take after meals with water
  • Swallow whole; do not crush or chew unless advised
  • Do not exceed the recommended dose

Mechanism of Action (MOA)

  • Calcium: Essential for bone mineralization, muscle contraction, and nerve transmission
  • Vitamin D3: Enhances intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphorus and supports bone strength
  • Magnesium: Assists in calcium metabolism, neuromuscular function, and bone structure
  • Zinc: Supports bone formation, immune function, and enzymatic activity

The combination works synergistically to improve bone density and skeletal health.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation
  • Hypercalcemia or hypervitaminosis D
  • Severe renal impairment or kidney stones
  • Patients with disorders of calcium metabolism

Warnings and Precautions

Adverse Reactions / Side Effects

Common:

  • Constipation
  • Nausea or abdominal discomfort
  • Metallic taste (due to zinc)

Rare:

  • Hypercalcemia: fatigue, excessive thirst, frequent urination
  • Allergic reactions: rash, itching, swelling

Handling Side Effects:

  • Take with meals to reduce GI discomfort
  • Discontinue and seek medical advice if symptoms of hypercalcemia or allergy occur

Drug Interactions

  • Tetracyclines, quinolones: Take at least 2 hours apart
  • Thiazide diuretics: May increase risk of hypercalcemia
  • Iron supplements: Should be taken separately
