Cekofen Emulgel

Cekofen Emulgel is indicated for the local relief of pain and inflammation associated with:

• Muscle pain and stiffness
• Sprains, strains, and sports injuries
• Backache and neck pain
• Tendinitis, bursitis
• Localized osteoarthritis and joint pain

Adults and adolescents (≥12 years):

• Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2–3 times daily or as directed by a physician

Administration Instructions:

• For external use only
• Gently massage until absorbed
• Wash hands after application unless treating hands
• Do not apply to broken, infected, or irritated skin

Diclofenac Diethylamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that:

• Inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes
• Reduces synthesis of prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain and inflammation
• Provides localized anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anti-swelling effects with minimal systemic absorption

• Hypersensitivity to diclofenac, other NSAIDs, or any component of the emulgel
• History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions triggered by aspirin or NSAIDs
• Application on open wounds, burns, or damaged skin

• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes
• Do not use under occlusive dressings unless advised
• Use with caution in patients with known NSAID sensitivity
• Avoid excessive sun exposure on treated areas (risk of photosensitivity)
• Not recommended for children under 12 years without medical advice

Common (local):

• Skin irritation, redness, itching
• Burning or stinging sensation at application site

Rare:

• Allergic contact dermatitis
• Photosensitivity reactions
• Systemic NSAID effects (very rare due to low absorption)

Handling Side Effects:

• Mild irritation: reduce frequency or discontinue use
• Severe skin reaction or allergy: stop use and seek medical advice immediately

• Store below 30°C
• Protect from excessive heat and light
• Keep out of reach of children
